A positive adult role model outside of their existing support structure to  challenge young people to explore new opportunities and ideas for their own futures. The mentors  give them the confidence that they are supported along the way.

Research has shown the ripple effect of mentoring positively benefits up to 10 people outside of the mentor relationship, including siblings, parents and school peers. With the support from Trust House  by way of a $3,000 grant in June 2020 the programme has been expanded to help more children in Flaxmere.  Volunteer mentors are vetted, trained and professionally supported.  Strong connections are built over a long term mentoring enabling young people to increase their sense of belonging, self-worth and resilience.

With greater self-belief, young people have the opportunity to unlock their potential, creating more fulfilled and connected lives and contributing positively to their community.
